Malaysians would have visited a hawker centre at least once in their life. Over the years, hawker centres have become a huge thing in our country. Quite a few Malaysians depend on hawker stalls in order to survive.
Yesterday (Monday, 22nd May), the Kuala Lumpur Hawker Association lost a valuable personage. Wang Guo Cai (王国才), a well-known consultant from the association, is reported to have passed away at the age of 51 last night. The reason for his passing is because of an illness.

Commonly known as Cai Shao (财少, master of wealth/money) or Cai Ge (财哥), Guo Cai was deeply loved and respected by many before his passing. He has a good reputation within the hawker stalls in KL and was known to have a high status on Petaling Street.
Just last Tuesday (16th May), the consultant attended a grand banquet held in Petaling Street in celebration of its 70th year anniversary. During the event, he won “The Spirit of Petaling Street” award for his all he has done as a consultant at the Kuala Lumpur Hawker Association. After the news of his passing broke out, many mourned the loss of a well-respected man. Many family and friends also shared posts on social media grieving over the death of their loved one.

Guo Cai’s memorial service will be held at the Nirvana Memorial Center (富贵纪念馆) in Sungai Besi. Rest in peace, Cai Shao. We send our condolences to your family and friends.
