Netflix’s new original K-Drama “Black Knight” (택배기사) is set to debut this week, and we couldn’t be more excited to see Kim Woo Bin back on the screen! Aside from Woo Bin, the action-packed thriller also stars Song Seung Heon, Esom and newcomer Kang You Seok.
The press conference for “Black Knight” was held earlier on Wednesday (10th May) at the Provoke Seoul in Yeongdeungpo-gu. During the session, we learnt that the upcoming drama marks Woo Bin’s reunion project with his co-star, Esom. The duo previously worked together back on the drama “White Christmas” back in 2011.
“I worked with Esom on my first ever acting project, and we met again on set after a long time,” the “Uncontrollably Fond” star shared. Upon reuniting with Esom in “Black Knight”, Woo Bin expressed, “She was not the lovely Esom that I used to know. She was very charismatic and intense. She also looked good while donning the military uniform. I was pleasantly surprised by Esom’s portrayal in the series.”
Esom then said, “I was very happy to hear that Woo Bin would appear in this series, and I was very excited. During the shoot of our first scene together, we had our oxygen masks on and acted just by looking each other in the eye. I felt the energy coming out of Woo Bin’s eyes, and I thought it was cool. It was nice to meet him after a long time.”
Woo Bin then joked, “I was very happy to see her, but she never told me that she was happy to see me. I was a bit overwhelmed during the first day of filming, but Esom guided me so well.” For those in the dark, both Woo Bin and Esom debuted as fashion models, before venturing into acting. “I had a talk with Esom about this. We thought to ourselves – ‘We survived in the industry’. Back then, directors used to scold us for our poor acting. But now, we’ve grown into solid actors.”
The synopsis of “Black Knight” reads:
“In a dystopian future devastated by air pollution, the survival of humanity depends on a group of deliverymen known as the Black Knights who navigate the wastelands using unconventional means.”
“Black Knight” will be available for streaming starting tomorrow (Friday, 12th May), exclusively on Netflix. Watch the trailer:
