Back in February, Seungri (승리) was released from prison after completing his 18-month sentence for charges relating to his involvement in the infamous Burning Sun scandal. Since then, the former BIGBANG star has been living a fairly quiet life outside of the public’s eye.
Seungri was recently in Kuala Lumpur, unbeknownst to many K-pop fans in Malaysia. He was spotted strolling around Pavilion KL shopping mall. Interestingly, a couple of fans were lucky enough to snap a few photos, and even a video with the former idol himself!
“The best Throwback Raya ever, especially for my daughter. She has been a fan of Seungri for nine years, since she was 13. We have been loving #Bigbang for 12 years. We stood by BIGBANG despite (the backlash) on social media. Although the substantial evidence has been provided, we all are very aware of how toxic they are,” the lucky V.I.P (fandom name), known as Mommy Gee, wrote on her Instagram.
“We saw him (by accident). We approached him with a small gift. We told him we miss him, and how V.I.P.s miss him. He invited us to take pictures with him! We were all in tears! He (even invited us to) join him for dinner,” she added. In the video, the “Strong Baby” singer was seen clad in a striped long-sleeve tee. He also wore a pair of cute glasses. “How was he that night? (He looked) like a boss! Exuding CEO vibes. And apt business acumen,” the fan further revealed.
The comments were flooded with fans raving about Seungri’s meetup with Mommy Gee and her daughter. “You’re so lucky! I don’t even bump into him in KL area, thank you for complimenting him. Hope he’ll visit Malaysia again,” one netizen wrote. Another fan added, “Thank you for telling him we miss him and making him feel loved,” while another wrote, “Is Seungri opening a business in Malaysia? If it’s ‘halal’, I want to work for him.”
According to mStar, Seungri travelled to Malaysia for personal reasons.
