Well-known American YouTuber Mr. Beast is famed for quite a few things— his crazy ideas on YouTube, his wealth and his giving nature. It isn’t uncommon to hear of him casually giving thousands of dollars away on a whim, and it’s usually for a good cause.
Mr. Beast (real name: Jimmy Donaldson) recently turned 25-years-old and for his birthday decided to do something special. The YouTuber announced that he would be choosing a few lucky fans to gift US$10,000 (~RM44,000). To our surprise, one of the lucky winners is a Singaporean!
Mr. Beast, Jimmy to his friends, turned 25 earlier this month on 7th May. To celebrate the occasion, the YouTuber decided to do something nice for his followers instead. He announced on his socials that he would be giving US$10,000 to five lucky fans. He later increased the number of lucky winners to ten.
Unfortunately, the post was later removed from Instagram, worrying some, but Mr. Beast clarified that although the post was gone, the event was still ongoing. True to his word, around 3am this morning (11th May), Mr. Beast announced the lucky winners on his Instagram Story.
Fans from all walks of life were chosen, and as it turns out, this included Singaporean artist and graphic designer, Meyyen. “I was hyperventilating,” she shared later after hearing the news that she had literally struck gold. Her fans and friends also joked that she had “manifested” her win as earlier she had drawn herself holding a bagful of cash, much like Mr. Beast’s pose in his post.
Mr. Beast later added on his Instagram Story that these ten people were the only winners. “If you get a DM (direct message) from anyone else, it is a scam!” he warned. The popular content creator also promised more giveaways in the future and thanked his fans for participating.
Well, congrats to those who won! And, happy belated birthday to Mr. Beast. We’re certain his fans will be eagerly awaiting another chance to test their luck in another giveaway!
