Most will wonder if it’s possible for two people from opposite factions to live in harmony together. Well, these two food delivery riders were apparently determined to prove that the answer is yes!
Bromance is apparently thick in the air in Singapore. Just recently, two men from differing delivery companies were spotted riding a bike together. Needless to say, the adorable sight left many cooing, but authorities had other concerns.
Just yesterday (9th May), Facebook group Beh Chia Lor – Singapore Road uploaded a photo showing two men riding a power assisted bicycle (PAB) together. Notably enough, one of them was wearing a GrabFood uniform while the other was wearing a Foodpanda shirt instead. However, the two looked very comfortable with each other and with sharing a bike. “Grab x Foodpanda = food delivery bromance,” the caption read.
Netizens were quick to coo over the duo, with some good natured teasing thrown in. “Now I know why Foodpanda (wears) pink,” one quipped. “Ok, who wants to play the Titanic song “My Heart Will Go On” while watching this,” another asked. “Sweet moment— road users please give them space,” a comment read. A few even asked to get in on the action.
However, it was also noted that the duo were not wearing helmets while on the bike. As such, a few other news sites have pointed out that the offence could result in a maximum fine of S$1,000 (~RM3300) and/or three months in jail for first time offenders. Subsequently, offenders will be charged with either a maximum fine of S$2,000 (~RM6700) or six months jail or both. Carrying passengers on a bike without proper seats may also result in the same penalties.
Well, there is no denying that the food delivery duo make for a adorable photo! But, we do hope they will take their safety into account in the future as well. After all, it’s better to be safe than sorry!
