Concerts can be very fun but they can also be very unpredictable when fans start to act irrationally (like throwing items on stage) to get the performer’s attention. Some have even thrown their undergarments as a gift for their idol while others ended up injuring the artist.
K-pop girl group NMIXX (엔믹스) is currently on their showcase tour around the United States and their recent stop was in Seattle, Washington. At some point during the show, someone decided to ‘throw’ their baby on stage, possibly to get their member’s attention.

As seen in the video above, the members were busy interacting with NSWERs (NMIXX fans) when Kyujin (규진) panicked after noticing a baby was placed on stage and quickly came to help get him back to his mother. Thankfully, the child did not seem to be in distress or in pain as he was seen smiling. After returning the baby to his parent, the 16-year-old asked the frenzied audience to calm down.
The video quickly went viral and sparked outrage among fans who called out the mother for being irresponsible for leaving a baby on stage. Many showed concern for the child’s well-being because he was not wearing proper noise-cancelling headphones to protect him from the loud music and cheering. Some added that the mother shouldn’t have brought her baby to a concert in the first place.

One fan who claimed to have attended the concert shared more details about the incident. According to the fan, the baby was apparently in a stroller next to security with hearing protection and was sleeping for the majority of the show. The baby woke up sometime before NMIXX started interacting with the fans and that’s when the mother brought him close to the stage.
With barely any security, the crowd started pushing each other to get close to the members and the mother sat her baby down on stage to keep him away from the chaos. Regardless, it’s still not advisable to bring an infant to a concert especially when you’re in the freestanding zone.

At the time of writing, there has been no update from the concert venue or NMIXX regarding the incident. We probably won’t be surprised if concert venues everywhere decide to add ‘Infant/Toddler’ to the list of prohibited items for upcoming shows.
