For a lot of us, marriage happens once in a lifetime. During this joyous celebration, friends and family members will bear witness of the coming together of a committed couple.
On 24th April 2023, Hong Kong actor and actress, Carlos Chan (陈家乐) and Shiga Lin (连诗雅) tied the knot officially with an extravagant and romantic wedding ceremony. Over 3 million HKD (1.68 million MYR) was reportedly spent on the wedding, as the newlyweds wanted this occasion to be a memorable one.
Dressed in three different set of gorgeous wedding attires, the lovely couple exchanged vows and got married under the witness of loved ones. Their wedding ceremony was held at five-star Rosewood Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui with a 3-carat diamond engagement ring and wedding band to ‘seal the deal’.
After reading their vows, the two of them revealed their rings at the same time. When Carlos slipped the ring onto his beau’s ring finger, Shiga got really emotional and teared up while keeping her head down.
The groom admitted that he was nervous while declaring his love for the bride in front of many. He even jokingly said that he was more affectionate at home and tends to get embarrassed in public. The scenes shared by the two was truly heartwarming and touching.
When interviewed after the ceremony, the couple said that they are open to having children. Carlos even joked that he will try to have enough children to form a football team, while Shiga playfully agreed, saying that she will try her best to meet that expectation.
The rumoured 1.314 million HKD red packet was also clarified by one of Shiga’s bridesmaids to be 13,149 HKD, which symbolises a lifetime of love. The bridesmaid agreed that it was a really beautiful number to signify their forever love as they enter this new chapter as husband and wife.
The fondness the couple have for each other can be seen throughout the wedding ceremony. From tears to laughter, the two shared a deep bond and the marriage was the proof of their love and commitment.
