Amir Ahnaf has come a long way in his acting career. While the actor has enjoyed massive popularity nationwide following his phenomenal performance as the antagonist character in “Projek: High Council”, the journey hasn’t always been smooth sailing for him.
For those who don’t know, Amir’s career started after he was selected as one of the participants of “Hero Remaja 2021”. He appeared as a supporting character in dramas such as “Rindu Darul Aman” and “Akim & Mira – Kisah Cinta 1999”, before finally getting his break this year with his role as Kahar in the action-packed school drama.
Amir appeared as a guest in Amelia Henderson’s podcast “Studio Sembang”. The full episode was published on YouTube last night (13th April). During the chat with the stunning actress-TV host, he talked about surviving through his darkest times when he was at a young age of 20. “It was during the MCO period, my mom moved to Sabah, so I was left alone,” Amir shared. “That was the phase where I became socially awkward.”
When asked how he coped with the situation, the 23-year-old star said, “I just go through it. I feel like life has its own ups and downs. And I feel like I was destined to live that way. It’s like, ‘When you grow older, you’ll understand.’ Maybe in the next five years, 10 years, or even next month? So, it’s a process for me to understand (how things work).”
During the session, Amir also confessed on how he felt “empty” following the immense success of “Projek: High Council”. “I asked myself at first, ‘Why am I feeling empty? I felt empty and calm. When I opened my Instagram, I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ I saw so many notifications. The same goes for TikTok as well. I don’t know how to explain the feeling in words,” the Terengganu-born artiste told the “Pulau” actress.
Regarding this, Amelia chimed in, “I’ve met a few actors in the scene. All of them have their own reasons. Some entered the industry to expand their business ventures, they want to make use of their fame to sell their products. While others want a more comfortable lifestyle. I’m not saying that those things are wrong, some of us work for money, and some work because it’s their passion. If we are passionate in acting, we’re not seeking for other people’s approval. Instead, we’re seeking for our self-satisfactory from creating a piece that we are satisfied in.”
