It’s probably wise not to believe anything and everything you read or see on the internet, especially with the existence of AI technology nowadays. Photos and videos can be easily tampered with and some have proven their skills in making something look believable.
Recently, an anonymous TikToker took the opportunity to make an edit of a certain incident and accused the Malaysian Prime Minister of something he didn’t actually do. Here’s what happened:

A video posted by @yimanas on TikTok has been going viral recently that showed Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim bumping into singer-actress Elizabeth Tan (谭苏梅) at a recent charity event. However, the video was angled and edited in a way to make it look like the politician was groping the singer. “I’m going to puke,” the accuser wrote along with the hashtags “#failedgovernment” and “#rejectpakatanharapan”.
Fortunately, the “Raya Cun” artist posted a video from her point of view to clear up those allegations made against the 75-year-old. In her video, it was clear that the “Abang Long Fadil 3” star was actually the one who bumped into the Malaysian minister and that her shocked reaction was her apologising to him for the small accident. “It’s such an honour to meet you,” she nervously and happily said in the video.
Some netizens thanked the “Payung” singer for posting the video to clarify that it was an accident with no groping involved whatsoever. Others, however, advised the singer to take down the post as it can still bring forth slander.
After the accident, Elizabeth happily posed with PM Anwar for a photo. At the time of writing, the accuser has yet to release an official apology for the allegations.
