Safiey Ilias recently revealed her plans to file a lawsuit against a Twitter user over an alleged inflammatory remark targeted towards her. The entrepreneur took to her Instagram yesterday to expose the netizen’s social media accounts.
For context, the netizen shared a video of an individual apparently undergoing a cosmetic surgery. She pointed out that the person in the clip looks strikingly similar to Safiey. “Safiey Ilias 2.0,” she captioned her post. To quote local site BuzzKini, it’s believed that the individual apparently hails from Thailand.
Safiey, on the other hand, was not having it with the netizen’s comparison. “I want to sue this individual and make a police report for (breaching the) Sedition Act, the MCMC (Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission) and also for coming up with a nasty post on social media. RM4million. Just you wait,” the “Apa Itu Syinta” wrote on IG.
That said, Safiey’s plan was met with huge backlash from netizens. The comments section was flooded with netizens trolling the trans figure. One netizen on Instagram questioned, “Are you currently broke? You can just simply sue other people? Do you think you can earn money that quick?” “When people compare you to Che’ Ta, you didn’t sue that person. But you’re suing the person commented you look similar to a non-celebrity. What’s this? It’s obvious that the two of you look the same,” another commenter said.
There were also a few who urge Safiey to forgive the Twitter user.
