Ask a parent and most of the time, they are willing to sacrifice anything for the good of their children. Of course, there are limitations to their ability. Still, for those who can afford it, it’s usually nothing but the best for their kids! Well, unsurprisingly, Hong Kong artist Andy Lau (刘德华) is a caring husband and doting father.
Not only has he worked hard to ensure his daughter and wife’s privacy, Andy has also gone the distance to provide the best he can afford for them. This includes, but is not limited to, buying an mansion for his daughter and a private jet for his family!
Andy Lau may be well-known on stage. But when it comes to his private life, the 61-year-old artist has a tendency to keep everything on the down low. In fact, he kept his relationship with Malaysian wife Carol Chu (朱丽倩) mum until he married her in 2008. And even then, they held a quiet wedding before revealing their change in marital status.
Their daughter Hanna (刘向蕙) was born four years after they tied the knot. If Andy had been careful about Carol, he definitely upped the ante when it came to Hanna. On her 4th birthday, Andy supposedly moved out of his first place to a mansion in Kadoorie Hill, a super-prime property. Said mansion was allegedly worth about 116 million Hong Kong dollars (~RM206 million).
Additionally, Andy got four body guards, three nannies and a private jet for the mother-daughter duo. Of course, ensuring the quality of their life didn’t stop there. Andy allegedly selected a kindergarten for Hanna, hoping it would provide a good learning environment for her. And when the name of the school was leaked, Andy chose another school to ensure Hanna could study in peace.
Despite Andy constant focus on keeping their lives private, he has not let that get in the way of enjoying life with his family. In fact, Andy was supposedly spotted last year at a Hong Kong international school. Apparently, he had been there to support Hanna as she had a performance that day. According to reports, the school fees are worth about 60,000 Hong Kong dollars (~RM33,000).
Well, there’s no denying that Andy is doing his best to provide for both Carol and Hanna while keeping them safe. His devotion has been admired by many and we can certainly see why Andy’s popularity extends beyond the entertainment scene!
