Back in January, Zarina Zainuddin found herself under the scrutiny of netizens after many noticed the apparent change in her facial features, particularly her nose and cheeks. As a result, speculations arose that the local celeb had gone under the knife.
The 52-year-old actress has since come forward to clear the air on the matter. According to her, the accusations are baseless. She also urged the public to stop spreading the false rumours. Not to mention, it appears that she had lost a significant amount of followers on her social media after her plastic surgery rumour broke out!

“The operation actually involved nose surgery. Otherwise, the doctor would have to cut my face here and there. The doctor said it was a sinus (blockage) on my cheekbones, just above the nose. If I don’t put my makeup on, the bruises under my eyes are visible,” Zarina said in an interview with “Melodi”.
“The doctor removed the blockage during the (nose) surgery. So, I have to accept the condition of my nose. I asked the doctor to fix it, so it won’t appear that bad. I didn’t change my nose. If someone doesn’t get it, they will never understand until they die. I refuse to think too much (about the netizens’ comment),” the mother to the famous twins Azal and Azil further clarified.
During the session with the local entertainment programme, the “Budak Tebing” actress also said that she’s aware of the public’s negative perception towards her after the rumours came out. “Because of that, the number of followers on my Instagram dropped from 2.3 million to 2.2 million. I think people are really mad at me.”
“Therefore, I would like to apologise to those who were infuriated and also those who don’t really understand (my medical condition). I accept this situation as it is. God gave me this illness, so I have to accept it. I just want to be myself, not someone else,” Zarina ended the chat.
