These days, people have been using the power of social media to not only raise awareness but to help one another as well. When someone tweeted that they were in need of assistance, many have shown compassion and do what they can to help that person.
One local musician took to her socials to post something that caught our attention. Violinist Endang Hyder recently posted on her Twitter asking for work opportunities, in hopes that people will book her for events. Here’s why:
According to her Twitter thread, her family needs to raise RM20k to help her father who is in need of medical treatment, specifically for his heart. “I really need help for my father. Please hire and book me for performances. He seems to be losing his sight and I really want to aid and ease him,” she wrote.
According to the violin player’s LaunchGood campaign, her father has been ill for quite some time. His medical needs have gotten to a point where she has even considered selling her violin but thankfully, it hasn’t come to that. “Since the pandemic hit, I tried to sell my violin but plenty of kind-hearted friends ease my burden by chipping in funds so I did not need to sell my violin,” she said.
However, the funds aren’t enough to cover his ongoing health condition. The performer wrote that the family is in need of a new electric wheelchair and a hydraulic lifting hoist for the ill father to ease the journey for his future medical checkups. The recent tweet has gone viral with over 250k views, 3.7k retweets, and 2.1k likes.
As seen in the photo above, the campaign managed to raise RM13k so far at the time of writing. If you wish to help the young talent financially, then be sure to check out her socials for more details.
