Chun Woo Won (전우원), the grandson of former South Korean president Chun Doo Hwan, has sparked a frenzy among Korean netizens recently. Many couldn’t help but to coo over viral photos of him escorted by the police.
Chun, who resides in New York, was arrested at the Incheon International airport upon his arrival in South Korea earlier on Tuesday (28th March). According to news outlet The Korea Herald, he was arrested on suspicion of drug offences.
Previously, Chun made nationwide headlines for publicly accusing his family of various felonies. He spilled all the beans about his family’s dark secrets while livestreaming himself using drugs on YouTube, shocking netizens in the process. He was then admitted to a hospital after taking the drugs in his possession.
The 27-year-old arrived at Incheon Airport at around 6am KST on Tuesday. The Seoul Metropolitan Police’s drug investigation team arrested Chun and took him to Seoul for further investigation. He was wearing handcuffs as he appeared at the arrival gate.

Upon his arrival, Chun was immediately swarmed by several Korean media outlet who were in attendance. Photos of him being escorted out of the airport were widely circulated on online platforms. Many Korean netizens were captivated by his eye-catching looks and his tall and lean physique. Some of the comments include:
