Yesterday (26th March) was a big day for local internet celebrities Jeii Pong (庞琂予) and Winson Sim (昭蓝). A month after officially tying the knot, the duo finally had their dream wedding!
Their wedding was both beautiful and a busy one. From adhering to the expected traditions in the morning to their wedding dinner at night, both Jeii and Winson were kept busy all day. In fact, Jeii herself even performed at her own wedding dinner!
In June last year, Winson nervously proposed to his girlfriend of five years. To everyone’s delight, Jeii accepted the proposal and the duo then started planning their wedding. Surprisingly enough, Jeii shared that they hadn’t taken long to prepare for the ceremony. However, they had spent a small fortune, close to RM600,000, on the wedding. After seeing their full itinerary, it’s easy to see why.
Jeii and Winson started off their special day with a traditional wedding in the morning. In addition to their family, the duo’s good friends were there, with several joining Jeii and Winson in their bridesmaids and bridegrooms party respectively. As per tradition, Jeii’s bridesmaids, such as internet celebrities Qiu Wen and Jestinna Kuan, put Winson’s party through a series of challenges to reach Jeii’s room.
After a fun-filled morning, both Jeii and Winson got prepared for their wedding dinner at night. The duo held a space-themed banquet at The Majestic Hotel in Kuala Lumpur with their family and friends in attendance. Plenty of celebs were also spotted at the venue, including content creators Phei Yong and Han Xiaoai, actors Jack Lim and Nick Chung (钟盛忠), and public figures like Dato’ Sri Norman Pang and Yvonne Chua (蔡怡汶).
The couple’s banquet was certainly a lively one with plenty of performances from fellow friends. Jeii’s beloved brother and local singer Gaston Pong also sang at his sister’s wedding dinner, which delighted many. Jeii herself too took to the stage to perform her new song “Manyou” live for her guests. This later garnered teasing from friends, with several claiming she was a “very hardworking bride”.
Gaston’s speech to the newly wed couple was also a highlight at the event. Several guests later shared they had been moved to tears from the emotional speech, with Gaston himself tearing up on stage. According to Jeii, Gaston wasn’t the only one who got emotional that night. Her grandmother in her 80s too was very moved to witness her granddaughter’s wedding.
The newly wedded celeb has since shared their plans for the future. For now, Jeii and Winson are focusing on renovating their house. And although Jeii claims she doesn’t have time for a honeymoon, she did hint that her husband might have a surprise for her. As for kids, well, both Jeii and Winson are keen on having a child, but are willing to let nature take its course.
Well, there’s no denying that Jeii and Winson certainly had a very busy and eventful wedding, However, it doesn’t negate the fact that the duo truly celebrated the day of their lives. Congrats to both Jeii and Winson! We wish them well in their journey as a newly married couple!
