Who doesn’t love a good ghost story? As scary as they may be, one can’t help but enjoy them regardless if they believe in the paranormal or not. We’ve heard plenty of ghost stories online – like the time a motel cleaner claimed to have seen a female ghost combing her hair.
Hong Kong artist Bosco Wong (黄宗泽) even shared his scary encounter with a ghost when he stayed in a hotel in Malaysia. Recently, this man shared the paranormal disturbances he experienced while renting a house in Kuantan. Here’s the story:
Earlier this month, a netizen who goes by Azhar Ahmad shared a lengthy story on the Si Aryan Facebook page of his experience of renting out a house in Kuantan that turned out to be haunted. Initially, everything seemed fine when he lived there with a housemate but strange things started occurring when the housemate moved out. In the post, the man explained that he would spend most nights sleeping in the living room because it was cooler.
One night at 3am, he heard a strange sound coming from the backyard, as if someone was knocking on wood or doing carpentry. The netizen went to investigate but could not find the source as the neighbours were all fast asleep. That was until he heard the knocking again coming from directly above his head. Refusing to look up, he went back inside the house and recite the Ayatul Kursi before going back to sleep.
The second strange occurrence was during one hot night when the man was awakened by a sweet smell. “When I opened my eyes, I saw there was a young woman walking from my kitchen towards the front door,” he wrote. He closed his eyes out of fear but then felt as if someone was dragging cloth over his body which tickled him in the process. The hauntings didn’t stop there; it apparently went on for the next few nights.
One night, Azhar was visited by another entity which he described felt like a tiger grabbing his body. Taking a quick glance, he shared that the creature had huge paws, and whiskers and was breathing heavily onto him. Despite the paranormal disturbances, he felt nothing had changed but thankfully his late mother noticed the differences in his behaviour and suggested they visit an Ustaz to be remedied.
According to the Ustaz, the two entities that had visited Azhar apparently took a liking to him and they had been living in that area for a very long time. As a precaution, the netizen accepted the treatment but the hauntings didn’t stop. One of the people from the mosque then offered the netizen an ore to cleanse his house which eventually did the trick.
Even though the disturbances had stopped and Azhar eventually moved to another district, he can still smell that familiar sweet fragrance and a sense that somebody is walking next to him whenever he goes jungle trekking. Perhaps nothing is truly gone forever. The Facebook user ended the post by adding that the incidents happened the same year as the MH370 plane went missing.
