There are many fans of peanut butter – especially classic, crunchy peanut butter, which melts on the tongue. How many times have you found yourself scraping the bottom of a jar for the last delicious dollops of peanut butter, which you either lick off your spoon or bare fingers (bread, what bread?). Yup, many of us are cray-cray over peanut butter.
We’ll, you’re gonna love it even more after we tell you that your favourite spread is for more than just eating! Whether your peanut butter has expired, or you simply have extra to spare, we do hope you’ll try these amazing peanut butter hacks that’ll knock your socks off!
Leather Cleaner
Everyone who has ever opened a jar of peanut butter is aware of its inherent oiliness. Obviously, this only applies to the smooth or creamy types, but they do help. Just dab some on a soft cloth and rub all over anything leather in a circular motion to bring out the shine. It works well as an emollient for buffing leather furniture, purses, and other items.
Removing Scratches
Any home or room would look wonderful with wooden furniture. They immediately exude a cozy, rustic feel. But what to do when you accidentally scratch your wooden furniture? That would be such a bummer. No worries – get some peanut butter from your cabinet and let it work its magic. Apply some peanut butter to the scratch(es) and let sit for 30 minutes (without any nut pieces). The scratch(es) will vanish if you use a cloth to remove the peanut paste!
Sticker Remover
You know how it’s oddly annoying to remove sticker labels from newly purchased dinnerware or chewing gum from your hair? Well, now you’ve got some PB to help you out. Simply apply some peanut paste on the stickers or chewing gum you want to get rid of. Let it sit for about a minute or two and rub your sticky problems away. Easy, right?
Shaving Cream Substitute
You’ve got a hot date but when you enter the bathroom to shave, all you find is an empty shaving cream bottle. What now?
We realize how strange this sounds, but some peanut butter might just be a life saver! Try shaving with peanut butter if you don’t have any shaving cream with you. Because it is oil-rich, it’s incredibly smooth and is a great substitute for shaving cream. After shaving, your skin does not become dry. It’s left smooth and silky instead.
Pest Bait
Forget cheese, use peanut butter to catch rats. You can use it to bait a mousetrap or just put some goober goop on a plate. Peanut butter has natural anticoagulants that disrupt blood clotting function, so when the rodent consumes some, it is killed. But do make sure to keep your pets away from the bait. Also, why use expensive cheese when cheap and affordable peanut butter does the trick? The same goes with ants. You don’t have to waste good sugar to attract ants. Just mix two teaspoons of peanut butter, one teaspoon of borax, and half a teaspoon of baking soda to treat an ant infestation. This causes the ants to bring the lethal concoction back to the colony, where it will kill further ants.
Ice Cream Cone Preserver
It’s annoying when you’re eating ice cream in a cone and it starts melting, dripping all over your outfit. So, the next time you wanna avoid this sweet mess, just put some peanut butter at the bottom of your cone and then top it with your favourite ice cream. This will keep your cone crunchy instead of soggy and or leaky. Plus, you get an extra treat at the bottom. Problem solved!
Home Deodoriser
Is the smell of the dinner you’re cooking filling up every nook and cranny of your home? Try heating up a tablespoon of peanut butter in a pan to treat the smell. After a minute of sizzling, a faint but nutty aroma should take its place. However, only do this is you’re okay with peanut butter scent. Sometimes, the scent can get so strong that it causes you to feel nauseous.
Pill Disguiser
Nobody likes taking medicine (including us!). So, it’s normal to have a hard time dealing with fussy kids, adamant pets or just yourself! But we’ve got a very handy (and sweet) trick to this – and it works best if the medication is in the form of pills. Just apply a small amount of peanut butter onto the pill and feed it to your kids or fur kids. A pretty cool disguise, huh? If the medication is in liquid form, just reward a spoonful of peanut butter after they consume the medicine.
Bonus: Use It For Sex!
Food and sensual pleasure go hand in hand. So, imagine what would happen if you could mix the best things in life – food and sex?
Just like how you use whip cream, chocolate syrup and honey, you can also include some peanut butter to spice up sex. Of course, it will get messy and sticky, but at least it’s gonna taste extra good! Also, it’s really up to you to use what type of peanut butter you want. If you want a crunchy touch, go for PB with chunks of nuts or, if you prefer something extra smooth, go for plain peanut butter. You can even use a mix of peanut butter and jelly. Also, we don’t have to tell you “how” to do it. You can have fun with it in whatever way you like!
