(Video) Dig In! Netizens Amused By Restaurant Serving Fried Rice Using A Shovel

Restaurants and cafes these days have interesting ways of serving their food to their customers. Instead of plates, we’ve experienced food being served on banana leaves, while other restaurants (like Shell Out) serve their (sea)food right onto the table itself.

As original as it may seem, many agreed that the idea of food being served in toilet bowls should never be allowed in the first place. While this may not be as disgusting, would you still have your appetite if your meal was served to you with a shovel?

A video that has been going viral recently on TikTok has now reached over 25.9 million views at the time of writing. The video showed a restaurant waiter pouring a fried rice meal onto a banana leaf for the customers, using what appears to be a standard blade shovel. Two follow-up videos were posted later the same week showing more close-up shots of the food being served using said tool.

The three videos managed to catch netizens’ attention with many being baffled by what they had witnessed. Scrolling through the comments of each of the TikTok channel’s recent videos, many netizens were making jokes about using a piece of digging equipment to serve food while others commented that they’d loose their appetite if their meal were to be served that way.

Some netizens were not necessarily disgusted by the establishment’s innovative way of serving a dish but were rather, confused and amused by the method. If any of you are intrigued by the idea and want to try the dish yourself, unfortunately, the බණ්ඩාගේ කටගැස්ම රෙස්ටුරන්ට් (Banda’s Bite Restaurant) is apparently only located in Sri Lanka.

From our understanding, the Shoveled Fried Rice dish is the eatery’s newest addition to the menu and has been attracting a lot of customers from near and far. If the innovation were to reach any restaurants in Malaysia, would you be willing to try it out?
