We live in a busy world so it isn’t uncommon to see people rushing from place to place. After all, no one wants to be late for anything important to them. Still, that doesn’t mean we should all throw our manners out the window!
Recently a local netizen shared an upsetting experience they had while in Kuala Lumpur. Apparently, they had been waiting for a taxi near Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) MRT station when a foreigner tried to cut the line. Worse, the foreigner spat at them when they were stopped from getting into the taxi!
“Just encountered an unpleasant experience today,” the netizen tweeted yesterday (16th March). “I was lining up (properly) for (a) taxi and (along) came a white douchebag who happened to cut the queue.” The foreigner had apparently been determined to catch a taxi first, regardless of everyone else.
Luckily, the netizen had acted swiftly in response. “When the taxi arrived, I quickly got in and brushed him off to queue. And to my surprise, he (spat at) me,” the netizen shared. “F*ck white privilege!” From the footage uploaded, it seems the incident occurred near the taxi stop at one of the exits at TRX MRT station.

Many sympathised with the netizen, with several being disgusted and upset as well. “(Something) similar happened to me,” one shared. “(An) old white guy just cut the line but the taxi driver (knew) I (was there) first, so he (indicated to) me to (move) forward, and that old guy just (started) screaming (angrily) at this little girl.” Another claimed they had been rudely shoved aside by another foreigner when exiting the LRT.
It’s certainly upsetting to see how self-centered and entitled some people can be. After all, you aren’t the only one in the world! We hope more people will take care to remain considerate and polite to others, especially when it involves public transport!
