Fancy being in the presence of a living filmmaking legend? Well, you’re in luck! Malaysians now have the rare opportunity to take a deep dive into the thoughts and personal archive of one of cinema’s most valued and legendary filmmakers – Tim Burton – at the exclusive, one-day-only “Tim Burton’s Master Class”, with special guest moderator, Dato’ Kamil Othman, Chairman of the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS).
The master class is part of “The World of Tim Burton”, a sprawling showcase set to debut on 21st March 2023 at the pop-up museum and exhibition venue, Toybox Projects, at Pavilion Bukit Jalil. The first day of the showcase, which will run until 30th July 2023, will be graced by the master himself, Tim Burton, celebrated for films such as Alice in Wonderland, Edward Scissorhands, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, Beetlejuice, Netflix’s Wednesday, and many more.
The world-renowned filmmaker will tell his story on the art of films, his unique creative processes, and the road to becoming a prominent household name in the entertainment and film industry.
Tim Burton, along with Dato’ Kamil Othman, will aim to inspire current and aspiring local filmmakers, creatives, young adults, and students of the film and arts industry with their unique insights, creative input, film tips, and tricks, to drive individuals to achieve their aspirations and develop quality films and artworks.
The World of Tim Burton and Tim Burton’s Master Class are Toybox Projects’ initiatives, designed to contribute to the Malaysian entertainment industry. Fans, film enthusiasts, and visitors should take this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from the one-and-only Tim Burton!
