When it comes to Dato’ Sri Najib Abdul Razak’s personal life, the disgraced politician has always been tied to wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor. However, it appears that not many people are aware of his first marriage.
Recently, the former Prime Minister’s son, Nazifuddin Najib, uploaded a video of him and his mom, Yang Mulia Tengku Puteri Zainah Tengku Eskandar, or better known as Ku Yie in short. According to Murai, the businessman had met up with her to ask for blessings prior to contesting for the Langkawi Umno division chief post.
@nazifnajib13 Bersama bonda saya petang semalam. Memang kebiasaannya dengan mummy la tempat saya mengadu dan mohon restu sebelum memulakan segala perkara. Tapi semalam mummy agak kekok bila depan kamera, mungkin sebab kami ni bukan pelakon professional kot☺️ Terima kasih mummy untuk segalanya, i love u… #LangkahWE #WhyNotNazif #TeguhBersama #NazifNajibForYouth #Nazif4NKPUM

“(Chilling) with my mother yesterday afternoon. Usually, she’s the go-to person for me to pour my heart out and also ask for blessing before I start anything. Mummy is a bit awkward in front of the camera, probably because both of us are not professional actors, ☺️” the 39-year-old captioned his post.
In the video, we can also see Ku Yie wishing the best for Nazifuddin. “Congratulations, Nazif, for your venture into politics. As a mother, I wish you all the best in the politics world,” she told her son. The heartwarming video has since garnered over 523k views on TikTok at the time of writing (Thursday, 9th March).
Nazifuddin’s TikTok post was met with positive responses from netizens. Many were thrilled after seeing Ku Yie’s appearance in the video. Not to mention, some also pointed out the Kelantanese royal’s striking resemblance to the late Tun Hajah Rahah Tan Sri Mohamed Noah. For those who don’t know, the latter was the wife of our second PM, Tun Abdul Razak Hussesin (Najib’s father).

Ku Yie tied the knot with Najib in 1976. The couple divorced in April 1987. They had three kids together – Mohd. Nizar, Puteri Norlisa and Mohammad Nazifuddin.
