Inap Rahmah: Homestay In Melaka Offers RM5 Per Night Package

Last month, the government officially kicked off the Menu Rahmah initiative in an effort to lighten the burden of those in the B40 community. Since then, many other companies have also followed suit in providing the best for the less fortunate.

One homestay owner in Melaka has also decided to take part in the initiative. The owner of Sarasera Homestay in Ayer Keroh, Nurul Himmah, recently introduced the Inap Rahmah package, offering price as low as RM5 right for B40 families! The homestay is complete with private pools for both adult and kids, and also a spacious BBQ pit area.

Speaking in an interview with Malaysia Gazette, Himmah said, “I thought that since we already have Menu Rahmah, why not we do something to help the B40 community who may have never experienced spending the night with their family at a luxurious homestay with a swimming pool for only RM5 per night?”

Himmah also shared that she could resonate with the setbacks that the B40 families have encountered, as she herself came from a similar background. “I used to help my mother sell vegetables at the night market after my father died when I was four. I hope that with this humble, limited effort from my end will give great meaning to those who really need it,” she told the publication.

The owner also said that the homestay is offering a discount of almost 99%, as compared to the original price of RM650 a night on weekdays and RM750 on public holidays and weekends. Nurul Himmah said that for a family to be considered eligible for the discount, they must first submit their income documents to prove that they are in the B40 category.
