However, Shima decided to ditch her signature figure-hugging outfits in exchange for a more modest look during her appearance at a concert in Kuantan over the weekend, wearing a hijab and baju kurung out of respect for an Islamic holiday.

Despite her appropriate image, the “Pura-Pura Bujang” singer still couldn’t avoid receiving hate mail from the public. Instead of staying silent, Shima took to her Instagram to hit back at the netizens. “Just finished my performance in Kuantan. Next time, you should come to the concert first before taking a dig (at me). The event hasn’t even started yet,” she wrote in the caption.
She added, “When I found out that the show was held on the day of Israk and Mikraj (Islamic holiday), I personally wanted to appear in this image. But a lot of people preferred to speak first, before looking. Someone even called me out for apparently not respecting the Islamic event. They haven’t seen my appearance on that day. I know how to fit in the ceremony without being told by anyone.” In her post, Shima also denied that she had donned the hijab after getting scolded.
In her subsequent posting on her Instagram, the “Hutang 2D” actress continued to put her haters on blast. “For your information, it’s not the first time I’ve dressed like this. Many times, I wear clothes that are appropriate to the occasion, I will wear them of my own free will and also according to the event, not to fulfill your wishes,” she explained.
