Ask any concert-goer and they will tell you, concerts are always lively. Be it because of the performances on stage or the fans themselves getting up to crazy things; there’s always something going on during a concert! And Taiwanese band Mayday (五月天)’s recent one in KL was no different.
On 11th February, Mayday held their “Fly to 2023 World Tour” in Bukit Jalil National Stadium. Long time fans had been extremely excited for the show. However, one fan in particular apparently had another reason to be excited. During the concert, he staged a proposal to his girlfriend!
Those at the concert would have noticed several people holding up signs reading “marriage proposal” in the crowd. As it turns out, those weren’t for the band. Those were for a certain man who was planning to propose to his girlfriend that night.
Mayday had been singing “最重要的小事 (The Most Important of the Little Things)” when the man decided to cue his proposal. He apparently told his girl that he wanted to gift a bouquet of flowers to Mayday singer Ashin and asked her to help him record the scene. However, when they were in front of the stage, he gave her the flowers instead, pulled out a ring box and got down on one knee. Needless to say, his girlfriend was surprised but said yes!

Netizens later congratulated the couple on their engagement. One even jokingly teased the couple, saying, “It turns out that Mayday is just a sideshow, and you (guys) are the protagonists🤟.” Others shared they had suspected something was happening as they heard shouting during the concert.
Kudos to the band, they continued their set the entire time the proposal was happening. It provided a nice atmosphere for the couple while still entertaining their concert-goers. Also, congrats to the couple! Their proposal will certainly be a memorable one for them!
