Amelia Henderson is back with another interesting episode of her podcast “Studio Sembang”. This time, the local actress invited her “Kisah Cinta Kita” and “Pulau” co-star, Ikmal Amry, as her guest.
Throughout the session, the duo talked about their friendship bond while working together on the filming set. Interestingly, the “Hero Remaja” alum got rather candid about his personal life, especially his humble beginnings, career in the entertainment industry and also fatherhood.
For those who don’t know, Ikmal tied the knot with his influencer wife Najla Samsul in December 2020. They welcomed their first newborn, a baby girl named Cailie, in January 2021. When asked to share his feelings about being a daddy’s girl, the 28-year-old said, “I feel like I’ve become softer and more thoughtful as compared to before. I used to be very fierce and harsh in the past. Now that my daughter’s around, I will avoid cursing or any sort of vulgarity in front of her. So, Cailie has helped me change as a person.”
During the chat with the Klang-born actress, the hunky actor also spilled some details about expanding his family. Ikmal added that he would like to have as many as six children. “I like having kids around. I have a lot of nephews and nieces, 12 of them in total. I love babies and enjoy holding them. Babies bring sustenance because they’re sinless. Plus, they smell naturally good. I want my house to be filled with baby scent,” the “Kebaya Kasut Kanvas” star jokingly remarked.

The duo also discussed about allowing their kids to follow in their footsteps in showbiz. Amelia opened by saying, “I think it will be different for them, because we already have the experience. As compared to people from our generation, where our parents don’t have anything to do with the industry – especially my mom, things can be difficult because she doesn’t have the experience to fill me in on the reality. But for me, I won’t be comfortable if my child wants to be an actor before they turn 18.”
Meanwhile, Ikmal said, “I have to educate her from the start. Perhaps I’ll encourage her to pursue something else that she’s interested in. For instance, if she’s into music, I’ll enrol her in relevant classes. But if she has the talent to act and want to pursue it, then I won’t stop her.”
