The thought of someone harming an innocent and defenseless animal can make anyone’s blood boil. We’ve had a few animal cruelty cases such as the man who abused a cat out of frustration. Prior to that, Janna Nick’s cat also suffered abuse from her neighbours.
Some pet owners or sitters don’t deserve to be around animals if they believe punishing the animal by mentally or physically traumatising them is okay. Imagine giving away a rescued pet to someone who wants to feed them to their large reptile – that’s pretty disturbing, no?

Yesterday (Tuesday, 7th February), a couple of Twitter users made a Public Service Announcement (PSA) to warn others of a man who is allegedly ‘adopting’ kittens to feed his pet Albino snake. The man’s action has been made aware after he replied to a netizen’s tweet about a shared love for reptiles saying, “My friend and I always go for [the] free kitten (or rabbit) adoptions for our snakes”.
According to @vvnloll, the man who goes by Syazuan or @syazuanism is said to be in his late 20s. He apparently goes around asking around if anyone is giving their kittens up for adoption. Appalled by his reply, user @syazmnnn dug through the man’s profile and found disturbing posts regarding his past actions. In the screenshots provided, the alleged animal abuser started feeding kittens to his snake Helga. The reason being? He felt that the snake is tired of eating mice.

The PSA tweets caught the attention of many netizens, including food influencer Ceddy Ang who was mortified by the discovery. “As a pet owner, this sent chills down my spine,” he tweeted along with a screenshot of the person’s disturbing tweet describing the sound of dying kittens when being fed to the reptile. Whether or not the user is actually feeding his snake kittens is yet to be verified.

After receiving backlash from Malaysians, Syazuan went private on Twitter and disabled both his Instagram and LinkedIn accounts. According to journalist Tashny Sukumaran, who was also disturbed by the viral tweets, she found no evidence of him owning a pet snake and was perhaps posting the tweets for attention but at the time of writing, nothing is confirmed.
It is also currently unknown if authorities have been aware of the situation. If the man is found guilty, he would have to pay for his cruel actions.
