The world can be a cruel place and unfair to many, which is why it’s important to remember to practice kindness and patience. It doesn’t take much effort to be kind to others, especially those in need. Remember that heartwarming story of a KFC manager returning someone’s missing card?

Or perhaps a more recent story where a flight attendant offered to carry a mother’s child who was struggling to calm him down. Whenever we come across someone who lost their home, most would wish to provide them shelter but sometimes a simple meal is sufficient enough.

Recently, TikTok user Abdul Haris Harahap or @hariskacho posted a video on his channel showing how a strange man approached him to ask for help saying that he recently lost his job. In the 30-second video, the man apparently asked him if he could treat him to a free meal. At first, the content creator rejected his request, believing he was a beggar.

“I thought he was asking for money and he looked pretty healthy to me,” he wrote. When the unknown man began to leave, the TikToker then realised that the man did not ask for money but for food, which indicated that he was actually starving. The father-of-one quickly ran after the man and invited him for a meal at Pavilion KL.

While they were ordering food, the young man learned that the strange man was also homeless after he was kicked out of his house for failing to pay rent. According to the unemployed man, his former employer apparently withheld his salary, and out of desperation, he resolved to borrow money from loan sharks.

After the video went viral with now over 1 million views, netizens praised Abdul Haris for his kindness and some even shared that they’ve gone through similar experiences as the homeless man. Others advise that while it’s good to help those in need, it’s also important to stay cautious as some may be scammers taking advantage of people’s kindness.

At the time of writing, there has been no information about the current well-being of the unemployed man nor has the TikToker posted a follow-up video regarding the incident. Whatever it is, we hope that the man is doing better and is getting the help he needs.
