While children may be young, never underestimate their skills and brilliance. We can learn from children just as much as they can learn from us, probably even more. Take, for instance, this boy who worked hard in the rain but still a smile on his face. Most adults would whine if put in a similar situation.

Speaking of being amazed, sometimes children can handle a situation better than adults if they’re taught well enough. This boy surely got everyone talking when he managed to catch a huge fish when fishing at The Mines Mall.

The Mines Mall is famous for its Mines Cruise where shoppers can enjoy a boat ride on the two large lakes located next to the shopping centre. Who knew it was a good spot for fishing as well? A video posted by user @mr.fadz84 on TikTok is currently going viral with now reaching over 1.5 million views, 114.5k likes, and 4.3k comments.

The viral video showed a group of young boys on the other side of the riverbank with one of them holding a fishing rod. The man recording the video found it amusing that these boys would even think to fish at the shopping centre. After a while, we can see that a large fish took the bait and the boy started reeling it in. “He actually caught one,” the man said in disbelief.

Amazed, the content creator went over to the other side to witness the boy’s catch up close. The group gathered together to see the boy trying to reel the fish in closer. The young future fisherman managed to bring it to shore where everyone can see the actual size of the fish. The video received mixed reactions from netizens online.

While most comments have been positive on TikTok, those on Twitter showed concern over the child’s safety and if it was actually allowed to fish in The Mines. A few were even worried that the boy’s action may influence others to try and fish at the shopping centre.

At the time of writing, the mall’s management has yet to release a statement regarding the group of boys fishing within the premise.
