We all know that when it comes to celebrating festivals, Suria KLCC goes all out – and this Chinese New Year is no different. While malls across the Klang Valley are now decked with spectacular Lunar New Year decorations and installations to wow visitors, Suria KLCC is looking totally EXTRA! And we’re loving it.
On top of that, from now until February 5th, Malaysia’s finest shopping destination will host a magnificent Chinese New Year celebration full of rewards, Instagrammable moments, and promotions that will have you constantly going back for more.
Firstly, you’ll be in awe of Suria KLCC’s decorations upon arrival, as the Centre Court is bedecked in such a way that you’ll be transported to the streets of ancient China! The focal point of the majestic, antique Oriental set up is a traditional Chinese gate tower, flanked by building structures clad in aged timber façades, with upturned eaves typical of traditional Chinese architecture.
This ancient town is the setting of a lively and colourful bazaar, where shoppers can purchase anything from CNY snacks to cheongsam. Visitors will also find a Wishing Tree, where they can share their wishes and dreams for the new year. Donations collected at the Wishing Tree will be used to help Suria KLCC’s partner NGOs advance the Mental Health Awareness agenda.
Another highlight of the town is an interactive “virtual river” filled with lifelike koi fish. Set under a bridge, the high-tech installation is a sensational mix of old and new, the traditional and the cutting-edge. Visitors will be amazed by the display, and can even flip virtual coins into the “river” via a screen.
The enchanting décor continues throughout Ramlee Mall, affording visitors plenty of picture-friendly backdrops. Among the image-friendly spots are a corner with a traditional Chinese rickshaw, and numerous red lanterns lining quaint streets. A photobooth offering free picture printouts and e-copies await shoppers who want to capture holiday memories with loved ones.
Suria KLCC has also planned a slew of exciting performances and activities to entertain its visitors. Don’t miss the Lion Dance performance in the Centre Court; and the Acrobatic Lion Dance, staged at the Esplanade, with performers jumping, lifting, and dancing on poles, as a live orchestra plays.
Speaking of the Esplanade, it’s the site of the piece de resistance of Suria KLCC’s CNY decor: Malaysia’s Biggest Rabbit Replica Made Of Gold Coins, as verified by the Malaysia Book of Records 2023. The massive Gold Coin Rabbit Replica is a sight you won’t want to miss, especially when it’s lit up at night!
As for festive promotions, the mall is offering Suria KLCC Shopping e-Vouchers (SKLCC e-Vouchers), which are yours if you spend RM1,500 or more in two receipts at any specialty store, between now and January 20th. You’ll get a RM100 worth of SKLCC e-Vouchers and an exclusive set of Suria KLCC Red Packets. Furthermore, the first 200 customers who purchase RM1,000 in SKLCC e-Vouchers during this holiday promotion will receive an extra RM100 in e-Vouchers.
