Malaysia is a multicultural country consisting of many ethnicities. Experiencing all the different cultures in our country is one of the best things about Malaysia. Yet it cannot be denied that there are still people out there who see others by the colour of their skin.
Just recently, a TikTok video by Dato Aliff Syukri went viral when netizens noticed him commenting about the Indian race. Offended, fellow TikToker Geetha Ji spoke up and slammed him online for all to see.

The millionaire’s TikTok video was initially a reply to one netizen’s comment saying that his child looked Indian. Standing up for his child, the 35-year-old said he doesn’t mind what his children looked like as long as they are neat and clean.
In the video, the entrepreneur said, “He’s still my child. It doesn’t matter what you insult me. You’re not perfect either to insult my child.” Within a day, the video managed to gain almost 528k views with almost a thousand comments, at the time of writing.

While the “Baby Sayang” singer only meant to protect his child, not everyone was happy with his response. Within the same day, TikToker Geetha Ji stitched the entrepreneur’s video with a video of her questioning him. “It’s not insulting if people comment to have an Indian face. Maybe there are similarities. Is it wrong for people to say that? I’m really ashamed that you have such a narrow mind,” she said in her video response.
The video managed to gain also another 525k views within a day. Surprisingly, because the Terlajak Laris entrepreneur was just defending his child, there weren’t that many netizens angry at him. Many simply commented that he should be proud to have such a child and leave it at that.
Scrolling through the TikTok comments on both videos, many are talking about how people of the Indian race are all beautiful. On the “Badang” star’s comment section, one netizen said, “Don’t mind these kinds of comments. Indians are beautiful. So be proud Dato.” Another comment from Geetha Ji’s video said, “I sometimes myself say my child looks Indian. Not a problem at all. My child is also okay. Natural beauty.”
At the time of writing, Dato Aliff Syukri has yet to reply to any of these comments. But let’s hope the matter doesn’t get any bigger than it already has.
