Working abroad is never easy. Having to part with your family and friends is always a difficult process and especially when the Covid-19 lockdown prevented people from travelling. Ever since regulations have ease up, many have been returning to their hometowns to reunite with their loved ones again.
Malaysian-born actresses Vivien Yeo (楊秀惠) and Yumi Wong (黃詩棋) have both made a name for themselves in Hong Kong. These beauties recently flew down to Malaysia but for different reasons. While the former was here for personal reasons, the latter was here for work purposes.
Earlier this week, Vivien Yeo shared her excitement of finally returning to her hometown in Johor Bahru after 2 long years since the pandemic. In her Instagram post, the Malaysian-born Hong Kong actress wrote, “I’m so excited to start this new year by coming back to Malaysia, my beloved hometown, after being away for two years. And this time, I’m not just returning as a daughter, but also as a mother to my two beautiful daughters! I can’t wait for them to meet my parents and experience all the love and culture that this incredible country has to offer.”
In another post, the 38-year-old posted a series of photos and a video of herself enjoying a scooter ride at her Johor home. After tying the knot with businessman Yip Sai Yeung in 2019, the pair welcomed 2 girls (the first in 2020 and the younger in February 2022). Since quitting TVB in 2020, Vivien has been expanding her beauty business in Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
Speaking of returning to Malaysia, actress Yumi Wong, also known as the local “Angelababy” is also back here. She recently posted her arrival at Penang Island for a work shoot. In her Instagram post, she landed on Malaysian land on the first day of the new year. Posing with her luggage, she wrote in the caption, “1st January, (hope) everything goes well! Starting to work. Penang food here I come!”
She also posted several other pictures with fellow coworkers, Raymond Ho Yin Wong and Philip Keung. For context, they’re currently in Penang shooting for a project by Louis Koo. Several lucky Malaysians who spotted these famous Hong Kong celebrities were also able to snap photos together.
All in all, we are happy to see the two Malaysian actresses finally be able to return home. Let’s all wish the best and nothing but the best for these two!
