For those who don’t know, every year, TC Candler presents The Annual Independent Critics List of the 100 Most Beautiful Faces, which has been published in various formats since the 1990s and has been seen by over 100 million people from around the world in recent years.
It’s no secret that even celebs desire to be listed as the Most Handsome and Most Beautiful face in the world. To score a nomination is an achievement in itself. Unlike most beauty rankings, the TC Candler list does not necessarily rely on popularity votes but instead attempts to inform and broaden public opinion. The list for last year’s Most Handsome and Most Beautiful faces is out and 2 of our Malaysian celebs have made the cut!
Meerqeen is No. 55!
Malaysian actor Meerqeen, real name Muhammad Shameer Shauqeen Shaiful Izam, made it onto the 100 Most Handsome Faces list and is placed in the no.55 slot! The 21-year-old, who rose to fame after winning 3rd place in the Hero Remaja 2019/2020 contest, managed to beat out internationally known male celebs such as British actor Charlie Hunnam, British footballer, David Beckham, Australian K-pop idol Jake from ENHYPHEN, and even Jin from BTS!
Meerqeen got into the world of acting in 2020 after he first took on the role of Usop in “Keluster” and Haqeem in “Angkara Cinta”. Speaking to mStar, the actor revealed that he is grateful to be featured on the 100 Most Handsome Faces list saying, “I honestly did not expect to be rewarded this way. It’s a good start for me to advance in my career in 2023”.
Anna Jobling is No. 84!
Joining Meerqeen on the TC Candler list is his “Melur Untuk Firdaus” co-star Anna Jobling! The Malaysian actress managed to rank no. 84 on the 100 Most Beautiful Faces list among other gorgeous talents from around the world. The 22-year-old beats out American actresses Lilly Collins and Jenna Ortega, K-pop idol Bona from WJSN, and is one spot above American superstar Ariana Grande!
Much like her co-star, the mix-blood beauty was once a contestant in the Dewi Remaja contest where she managed to win the 4th spot. In 2019, the actress was offered her first acting role in the first season of the “Keluarga Baha Don” drama series where she played the role of Jo Don III’s girlfriend.
