K-pop soloist Choi Jin Ah (최지나), or better known by her stage name G.NA, took to her Instagram to share an update with her fans for the first time in over a year! After seemingly retiring from the entertainment scene in 2016, it appears that she has been living a low-key life, out of the public’s eyes.
For those who aren’t really familiar with G.NA, the former singer made her official debut under Cube Entertainment in 2010, which was also home to the K-pop groups B2ST and 4minute. She was famous for a string of hit songs namely “I Will Get Lost, You Go Your Way” and “Black & White”, just to name a few. However, her blossoming career unfortunately came to a halt following a shocking scandal that in turn tarnished her reputation and image.
G.NA has been on a hiatus since news of her sex scandal made the headlines in the past. Back in 2016, she was accused of offering sexual favours in exchange of KRW 35 million (~RM121,255) with an unidentified entrepreneur. G.NA admitted to the charges, though she claimed that she was scammed by a “friend” of her. She was eventually ordered to pay a fine of KRW 2 million (~RM6903).
After exiting Cube Entertainment following the scandal, G.NA has since kept a rather quiet life and stayed out of the spotlight. On top of that, the 35-year-old celeb also rarely post on her social media. However, just recently, G.NA delighted her fans with photos of her celebrating the New Year’s Eve with her loved ones.
She wrote on Instagram, “Happy New Year. Appreciate your loved ones and cherish them when you still can.” She also accompanied her post with the hashtags that said, “Still alive, not dead yet.” The post has since been flooded with numerous of her fans leaving uplifting comments for her. “May only good things come your way, I miss your voice,” one fan wrote. Others also expressed their hopes for her to return to the K-pop scene.
Will we get a comeback from G.NA in the near future? We certainly hope so!
