Living in a world through a glass screen, we often forget that celebrities are humans too – with human emotions. Sometimes, we trash and judge these people without taking a second to think about their feelings.
Just recently, the Malaysian singer, Nourul Depp, shared a video on her Instagram page that brought the attention of many. Celebrating both Muslim and Christian holidays, the singer is angry about how people are so quick to judge.
In the said Instagram video, the singer shows a screenshot of a fan dm-ing her, apologising for the harsh words she had directed at her earlier. It can be assumed that the fan had written one (or several) harsh comments in a recent post that had made the singer angry.
Along with the post, the caption wrote, “With “good words” they criticise others. After knowing that I don’t forgive, (they) start asking for forgiveness. I’ve said it a thousand times. I don’t forgive. We all have basic knowledge of religion. Swearing and blasphemy are prohibited. But it’s still done. That’s why I don’t forgive. Also to prevent everyone from swearing and insulting. You can hide behind your screen, but you cannot run.”

Scrolling through the Instagram comments, we found that many of her fans have been apologising for their words, upon seeing the statement that she will not forgive. But despite apologising, some are still lecturing Nourul about forgiveness, saying that they can’t fully support the singer’s actions. One even said that we are imperfect human beings that make mistakes and that we should always forgive.
Whatever the case, we should always consider other’s feelings before saying something potentially hurtful. It’s no use crying over spilled milk. Let us hope we can all forgive and forget, move on, and have learned a valuable lesson from this.
