Accidents can strike anytime, anywhere. It might be something out of our control, or caused by a simple mistake. And while we may never mean to cause any harm, there’s no denying that some mistakes can, and are, fatal. Unfortunately, this particular mistake cost someone their life.
Hun Jun, a delivery food rider, was involved in an accident in Penang when he was rushing to deliver food to the correct location after a customer gave the wrong one. One day before his funeral, his wife, Kimmy took to her socials to grieve her loss and share her sorrow. Her post brought many to tears as netizens left their condolences.

Kimmy shared that she received news of his accident via a phone call on 10th December. At that time, she hoped it had been a joke. “When I saw the photo, my legs turned weak and I hurried to the scene of the accident. But, I couldn’t make it in time,” she shared. She added that her husband had passed away upon arriving at the hospital. “When the autopsy was finished, I saw your stiff and cold body. I couldn’t accept it (then) and I still can’t accept that you are not here (now),” she told him.
As a final goodbye, she uploaded the last photo she had taken with him. “You promised me that when we bought a house, we would hold a wedding and take enviable wedding photos. But now, not only do you owe me a wedding and wedding photos, you also left me and (our children) behind,” Kimmy said mournfully. “(You) asked me to hold your funeral… why are you so cruel?”
She lamented all the ways she would miss him, from the hugs he often gave her, to the walks they used to do with their kids, to not being able to grow old together to see their kids reach adulthood. “You know we can’t cope without you,” she wrote. “Why would you rush to (your) death for a customer who (gave the wrong) address…”

“We have been together for seven years, and we would have been married for two years if we (had another) month,” Kimmy shared. “(Now, I am) a single mother. Please cherish the people in front of you.” Hun Jun’s funeral was on 12th December at Bukit Mertajam, Penang. He leaves behind his wife and his twin children.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the family and all who knew him. We hope they will find peace in his passing. We also hope other riders will stay safe while carrying out their jobs.
