On 11th December, two rather influential families bore witness to the marriage of two of their own members. The youngest son of the Executive Director of Rimbunan Hijau Group Tiong Chiong Ong (张昌恩), Titus Tiong (张永胜) and the youngest daughter of the chairman of Goodwood Group of Companies and Vanimo Jaya Group of Companies Datuk William Lau Ngie Yung (刘义容), Rachel Lau (刘铭雪) recently tied the knot!
The ceremony was reportedly held at the RH Hotel in Sibu, Sarawak where their family and friends gathered to celebrate the duo. It was a truly beautiful wedding, as the couple also took the opportunity to express their love for one another publicly.

During their wedding banquet, both Titus and Rachel took the opportunity to praise each other. Titus commended his wife for being beautiful, kind-hearted, capable and talented. “The greatest achievement of my life is to marry a good wife,” Titus shared. “If I lose money, I am confident I can make more. If my friends are gone, I am confident I can find new friends. But if (my) wife is gone, I have no confidence that I can find another, (who will be) a good wife.”
Rachel herself chalked their meeting up to fate. “Thank you for your love, support and tolerance,” she told her new husband. “In the days to come, I will continue to be your dearest lover, (your) most powerful teammate and (your) best friend. Please advise me for the rest of my life.”

The couple however, did not forget their parents. Rachel was truly grateful to her parents, claiming they had brought her up well. She shared how hard her father William had worked to provide the best for them and talked about how her mother (Ling Ngiik King)’s unconditional love has been the backbone of her life.
Rachel also remembered to thank Titus’s parents. “Thank you for raising such an excellent son. He is optimistic, sunny and positive. He always brings a lot of laughter and energy to those around him. (It) adds a lot of fun to our lives,” she said.

Titus certainly lived up to Rachel’s claims as he made the audience chuckle with his humorous speech. However, he did not let the laughter distract him from sharing his joy. He first took the time to thank his grandparents for helping him grow.
He dedicated his first speech to his grandfather, Tan Sri Datuk Sir Tiong Hiew King (张晓卿). “Grandpa, you have always been my idol,” the young man shared. “I hope that one day, I can have one-tenth of your success. Thank you for your patience, cultivation and encouragement. I will not let you down.” Titus also thanked his parents for all they sacrificed to raise him.
Of course, Titus didn’t forget to thank his parents-in-law for raising Rachel. “I will (prove) to you with actions that your choice wasn’t wrong. I know Rachel is the apple of your eye, and I will definitely treat her better than (I treat) myself,” Titus promised.

Titus’s father, Mr. Tiong Chiong Ong thanked their guests for blessing their son and new daughter-in-law’s wedding. In fact, the couple apparently had friends who flew in from Los Angeles, USA for the ceremony! Malaysian wedding planner company, Peak Xperience reportedly took a whole year to plan said ceremony.
Well, congratulations to the happy couple! We sincerely wish them all the best as they start their new married life together!
