The House of Suntory is known for its gins. It is the same Suntory Osaka plant that gifted the world Hermes Gin in 1936 and Roku Gin in 2017. With over 100 years of experience, Suntory has finally released yet another quality gin we can all be excited for!
To cater to all Gin lovers around the world, The House of Suntory is finally introducing the new SUI Gin! With its clear and refreshing taste, SUI Gin is the ideal drink to enjoy with family and friends and pair with any meal, anytime!
The SUI Gin (翆), which takes its name from the Japanese word for Kingfisher, was first made available in Japan back in 2020. It comes in a tall, blue-green hexagonal bottle. Similar to beers, Suntory is positioning it as a beverage that is made well to pair with any meal of your choice, especially with Japanese delicacies!
SUI is a gin through and through; it is made from a beautiful combination of the traditional eight gin botanicals – juniper berry, coriander seed, angelica seed, angelica root, cardamom, cinnamon, bitter orange peel, and lemon peel – but it also has ryokucha (green tea), ginger, and yuzu – a Japanese citrus! This comes together to make a Gin that is versatile as it is smooth.
To drink SUI Gin, Suntory recommends adding a splash of tonic water to enjoy it as an SUI Gin Sonic. Additionally, you can add other infusions – a squeeze of lemon, a tablespoon of Yuzu juice, freshly grated ginger, or green tea – to create your own unique mix. Why not use your imagination and add other distinctive flavours like wasabi, shiso leaves, crushed plums, or even frozen oranges? SUI Gin complements everything!
The new SUI Gin is packaged in a 700ml bottle and will be available at selected restaurants and bars. It will also be available at selected retail outlets including; Jaya Grocer, Village Grocer, Sunshine, BIG, Mercato, The Food Merchant, De Market, Urban Fresh, and AEON Big. SUI Gin can also be purchased online at these sites; The Good Stuff, Wholly Spirit, and Whiskery.
