People tend to judge others based on their appearances. Unfortunately, they don’t always keep these comments to themselves. In fact, a few netizens recently took to a former Miss Hong Kong’s socials to let her know what they thought of her current looks.
Actress Louisa Mak (麥明詩) is best known for winning Miss Hong Kong in 2015. Unfortunately, her fans have felt that lately, Louisa has not been watching her weight. Well, Louisa recently responded to the comments and took the time to explain why.
The 30-year-old actress uploaded a post on 13th November to her socials. One particular photo highlighted some comments she had noticed on her posts. To everyone’s surprise, the comments were criticising Louisa’s weight. One netizen boldly recommended Louisa “lose some weight“. Another directly called her “plump“.
Apparently, after seeing these comments, Louisa took the initiative to respond to them. “A year ago, I was really thin. It’s true, today, I have a lot of fat and (a) belly,” she wrote. “The explanation? Recently, I’ve been on TV less, so I lowered my target for my body’s shape.” However, Louisa was quick to add that she could still achieve the necessary goal if her work required it.
Her fans were quick to reassure Louisa that she looks fine. “(Your) happiness comes first,” one stated. “Looking as fit as a fiddle,” another claimed. “The body and mind’s health is the most important,” a comment told her. “(We will) always appreciate you.”
We’re certainly glad that Louisa isn’t going to let those comments get her down! It’s also amazing to see the actress acknowledge she has put on some weight, but explain that she was fine with it. Like her fans, we agree that her health should come first. So, stay healthy and happy, Louisa!
