“First comes love, then comes marriage” as the saying goes. You obviously can’t marry someone if you’re not at least in love with them, right? Most people dream about finding a life partner and even list down all the things they’re looking for in a potential spouse. Who knows if the “One” is waiting right around the corner, right? Or possibly living in the same house as you?
Yes, while love can be beautiful, it can also be strange at times. Remember the lesbian couple who found out that they’re actually half-sisters? That must’ve been quite a shock. Many also find it weird that this woman married her ex-adoptive father. Now, joining this list is this couple of step-siblings who apparently, married each other.

23-year-old Finnish woman, Matilda Eriksson shocked the world when she revealed in a TikTok video that she married her step-brother Samuli. The viral post has since reached 5.3 million views. The two apparently started dating not long after her mother and his father got married in 2019. “It took us two weeks to start dating after that and he basically moved in with me right away. It felt good and natural immediately,” she told Yahoo! News.
If you’re wondering how their parents feel about their relationship, they’re actually quite supportive and even approved of it. Their friends, however, were not as joyful when the step-siblings first shared the news. The Finnish TikToker shared that their friends expressed their concerns which made her feel weird and uneasy for a few days.
“I was confused and in love at the same time and honestly I really didn’t know what to do. Thinking about the fact that he still is my step-brother and also I thought about other people’s opinions,” she said. It was actually her mother who helped her through the confusion and encouraged her to give the relationship a try despite her friends’ judgment.

After the couple was ready to take to the next step, they began researching if it was legal for them to get married according to Finland’s law, and much to their delight, they discovered that they should not have any problems tying the knot. The step-siblings then married in July earlier this year.
Matilda continued to share their journey and life together as a married couple on her TikTok channel. Congratulations to them(?). What do you think of their relationship?
