Just recently, we lost a beloved former teen pop star, Aaron Carter. He was 34 years old. The singer first rose to stardom in the late 90s and even appeared in popular TV shows such as Disney’s “Lizzie Mcguire” starring Hilary Duff where he performed “I Want Candy”.
His unexpected death came as a shock to the world where fans and fellow celebrity friends mourned for the “Fool’s Gold” singer. His older brother, Backstreet Boys member, Nick Carter recently paid tribute to his younger sibling during a concert in London.
Backstreets Boys is currently in the middle of their DNA World Tour and despite the heavy news of Aaron’s passing over the weekend, the boyband’s scheduled show at the O2 Arena in London was still a go. During the concert, Nick Carter, who was visibly emotional throughout the entire show, and his members paid tribute to his late brother.
In many videos posted by fans on social media, the 42-year-old broke down into tears after performing their latest single, “No Place” as group member Kevin Richarson spoke to the audience while the others comforted him. “Tonight we’ve got a little bit of heavy hearts. Because we lost one of our family members yesterday. We just wanted to find a moment in our show to recognize him,” said Kevin.
An in-memoriam image of Aaron was displayed on the big screen above the stage. The vocal group then dedicated their next song, “Breathe” to the late former teen pop star. Not one dry eye left the arena after the emotional tribute. Fans praised Backstreets Boys, especially Nick Carter for moving forward with the show while also offering their prayers and condolences to the singer.

Prior to their performance in London, Nick shared a series of photos in an Instagram post of him and his late brother Aaron during their childhood. “My heart is broken. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded,” he captioned. The father-of-three added that he never stopped hoping for the day his brother will finally get treatment for his troubles.
At the time of writing, the cause of the singer’s death is still unknown as it is still being investigated by the authorities. We hope Nick and his family are able to stay strong during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Aaron Carter.
