Gamers aren’t always on the lookout for just new video games. They also always look for opportunities to upgrade their gaming setup. Casual gamers are fine with just any setup as long as the games are playable and the consoles are operational. But for those who take gaming seriously, being playable just won’t cut it.
What’s the best gaming keyboard? What’s the best gaming headset? Questions flooding the minds of those who wish to improve their gaming experience. Luckily for us, we got the opportunity to try out some gaming devices by Logitech. Here’s what we think of the new Logitech Aurora Collection:
1. Logitech G705 Mouse
Let’s start off with the mouse which is very important for any gamer as you’ll need a mouse with a good grip and accurate DPI speed/sensitivity to navigate and click on selections while simultaneously moving your character around. For Office use, the G705 is like any other ordinary mouse with little to no use of its features but once you load your game on your PCs or laptops, this baby will not disappoint.
Design
Design-wise, we’re loving the white colour on the Aurora collection. The lighting that illuminates the G705 is simply beautiful. In terms of build, the mouse is very lightweight at 85 grams but when it comes to grip, it’s only good if you have a small palm size. It’s still doable for those with big hands but the mouse fits perfectly for users or gamers who are more on the petite side (in our opinion).
Sensitivity
Most of the time, you’d have to deal with a mouse’s default DPI sensitivity and it won’t always work for every purpose. But luckily with the G705, you can set it to your preferred sensitivity. We kept the sensitivity/speed at 1600 DPI and it was very fun to play first-person shooter games with this as the cursor’s movement with the mouse is perfectly in sync and accurate.
Features
The G705 is equipped with 6 fully programmable buttons. That’s right, choose what you want the mouse to do and it’ll do it. While this feature has little to no use for office work, for playing games like DOTA, League of Legends, or any games that require fast commands, the 6 buttons will definitely come in handy. We kept it at default but it’s nice to know that they’re programmable.
2. Logitech G735 Headset
We’re not gonna lie, we definitely felt like a Twitch streamer while wearing this headset and we mean that in the most respectful way of course. Other than looking cool, the G735 headset feels very comfortable that you can wear it for hours without feeling sore afterward, this is thanks to the padded earcups and head strap.
Overall Sound Quality
The startup sound, when we turn it on, was already enough to convince us that we were about to get the best sound quality while playing our favourite video games. Even if you’re just watching videos on your phone or PC, the very cozy Bluetooth headset can still give you amazing sound quality as it is Dolby Atmos+ Windows Sonic Spatial Sound compatible. If you’re not satisfied with the quality then don’t worry, cause you can choose your preferred EQ Settings when you load up the GHub software.
It’s also worth noting that the headset’s sound quality is very immersive as you can hear the surround sounds of the content you’re watching or the game you’re playing. Perhaps we should warn you about playing horror games alone with this headset cause it was definitely hard to tell if the sound was coming from real life or in the game (we were impressed either way).
Microphone Quality
You don’t have to worry about purchasing a separate (USB) microphone to talk to your friends during co-op sessions as the headset also comes equipped with Blue VO!CE microphone tech that you just plug into the G735.
If you’re unaware, BLUE VO!CE microphones are one of the best microphone techs out there. Although it doesn’t necessarily live up to the quality of an actual condenser microphone, you still don’t have to worry about people not being able to hear you or your voice being too distorted.
Just like the other devices, you can choose your preferred sound quality and settings of your microphone on the software. Overall, we personally think that the mic’s performance is good enough for you to get started on your Twitch Streamer career.
3. Logitech G715 Keyboard
Now for the main attraction, the G715 gaming keyboard. If you’re not a fan of very loud-sounding keyboards then this may be the keyboard for you. Even though it doesn’t fully cancel out the noise when typing, the clicking sound won’t be too much of a problem. You can use it in a room with a sleeping baby and you won’t have to worry about the child waking up.
For home or work purposes, the keyboard can still do its job like any other keyboard. We personally love how responsive it is to touch and we definitely love the lights on this device. Once again, you can set the keyboard’s commands to however you prefer it to be by accessing it through the GHub software.
4. Logitech GHUB Software
Last but certainly not least, let’s talk about the Logitech GHUB Software. As if the new Aurora collection devices aren’t already amazing on their own, this software makes them even better. You can simply download the GHub application software and launch it onto your PC. It’s free and very easy to navigate in our opinion.
The instructions are straight to the point and once you’ve connected all your devices to the software, you can reprogram them to your preferred settings. There are so many settings to choose from to improve your gaming experience – it’s like walking into a candy shop for gamers.
Our Final Thoughts
So what is our verdict? As casual gamers, we personally love what the Aurora collection has to offer. If you’re looking for something stylish and comfy then this is definitely the setup for you. If you’re a serious gamer, don’t worry, the collection is not just for beginners cause it definitely packs a punch for each of the items’ prices.
Overall, we believe the Logitech Aurora Collection is perfect for everyone who enjoys gaming, be it casual or serious. If you wish to know more about the devices and all they have to offer, simply visit the official Logitech G website.
