A video posted by Kuala Lumpur Reporter on Twitter showed an electrical technician climbing to the top of one of the Petronas Twin Towers to change its lightbulbs. The aerial footage taken by a drone first showed the tower’s peak in all its glory before cutting to the workers exiting a door in full safety gear and getting ready to change the floodlights’ lightbulbs.
One woman in a red hijab courageously climbed to the top to replace the old floodlights’ lightbulbs with new ones while balancing herself on the side of the tower’s peak. We can only imagine how strong the wind must’ve been up there. The misty video basically showed viewers just how risky and dangerous this technician’s job is.
Despite the risk, the brave woman appears calm in the video as she waved to the camera while moving to the next floodlight. After the video went viral with 136.5k views at the time of writing, netizens commented saying they were blown away by the technician’s work with many (mostly men) joking they would’ve peed themselves if they were asked to do her job.
Just watching the video alone was enough to make our legs turn to jelly. According to netizens, the technician in the video goes by @mayasidek on TikTok where she also occasionally posts about her job and her family. We sure hope she’s being paid handsomely to do this line of work. Would you dare to change a lightbulb on top of the Twin Towers?
