A year ago, YouTuber and influencer Yang Bao Bei (杨宝贝) went viral for all the wrong reasons. She was exposed for scamming fans and friends after a suicide attempt. Soon afterward, YBB got into many spats with her then-friends, especially fellow content creator Lim Shang Jin.
However, since the incident was exposed, the influencer has been working hard to repay everyone she owes. Although she faced plenty of scepticism and criticism, it seems she has completed part of her goal. YBB recently announced that she has paid off her debt to her friends!

The influencer revealed the good news on her Instagram Story. “Today, I paid off seven friends (whom I) owed for more than a year. Now my bank account has returned to three digits,” she said. “Although it’s really hard, never give up your life because there are still family and (a) mother who loves you. I will continue to work hard to repay the rest. Please wait for me!”
YBB included screenshots of her payments which showed her repaying a total debt of RM47,000. The smallest amount was RM3000, while the highest was apparently RM18,000. As it turns out, fans weren’t the only ones who were surprised. One of her friends later shared that they had been shocked to receive what they were owed from YBB.
“I also want to make a formal public apology Mrs. Chen,” YBB added in another story. “I’m sorry for my chaotic emotions earlier, I did a lot of wrong things and said a lot of brainless words, hurting my former friends. I also thank everyone who has helped me. I hope you will all be well in the future.”

There’s no denying that YBB has been garnering less negative attention recently. It seems that she has accepted that her mistakes will be remembered, but she is also determined to right her wrongs. We sincerely hope she continues to repay the rest of her debts and be free of them soon!
