After the revelation of the iPhone 14 series and other devices last month, Apple fans have been wondering when will the new iPads be unveiled. After weeks of speculations and rumours, the wait is finally over as Apple made a very exciting announcement on Tuesday (19th October).
Prior to the announcement, the only information we had about the iPads was the new iPadOS16 which is said to share similar features as the new MacOS and iOS. But now, the new iPad series has officially been unveiled, and here’s all that we know about the devices so far:
iPad Pro
1. M2 Chip
The main star of the announcement was, of course, the iPad Pro. The new model is also known as the iPad Pro M2 because it is powered and supercharged by the M2 processor chip which is the same processor as the updated MacBook Air and Pro 13 that was released earlier this year.
Whether it’s for photo editing, designing, analysing, or even gaming, the M2 allows the iPad Pro to bring the best performance and capabilities for its users regardless of their field of work. For those who do digital art, the new iPad Pro also comes with the next-level Apple Pencil hover experience which allows users to sketch and illustrate even more effortlessly.
2. Camera
Of course, we know that you want to know about the camera as well. The iPad Pro M2 allows users to capture ProRes video up to 4K resolution and transcode the footage 3x faster which enables content creators to produce cinema-grade videos from a single device.
3. Pricing
Although we don’t have the official release date just yet, the prices in Malaysia have already been revealed. According to the website, here’s how much the iPad Pro M2 cost:
- 11-inch model starts from RM3,899 (RM4,649 for Wi-Fi + Cellular)
- 12.9-inch model starts from RM5,399 (RM6,149 for Wi-Fi + Cellular)
iPad & Apple TV 4K
Other than the iPad Pro, Apple also introduced its brand-new iPad and Apple TV 4K. The new iPad is said to be the tech giant’s most versatile device, now equipped with an A14 Bionic processor, a new front-facing camera position, and a 12MP Wide back camera that can capture HD photos and up to 4K videos. Pricing starts from RM2,099.
The all-new Apple TV 4K is now driven by the A15 Bionic chip which delivers improved video and audio quality. The new device now offers HDR10+ support, adding to Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, or Dolby Digital surround sound. Along with the Apple TV Remote, the TV will be available soon with a price starting from RM699.
