We’ve had plenty of cheating partner stories lately. Just recently, a wife gave her husband a painful lesson after she caught him cheating on her with a prostitute. Breaking up with your partner after they have been disloyal to you can be traumatising and takes time to heal but unfortunately for this woman, things went south.
Last year, a doctor posted a TikTok video exposing her husband who cheated with another woman. The video quickly went viral and the two have since divorced. Just when you thought the sad story has ended, things actually got worse. Much worse.
One Facebook user who claimed to be a cousin of the woman in the viral video posted an update on the divorced couple’s current situation in a private group. The user shared how the two parents have been battling over custody of their child for a long time but things have gotten worse after the man managed to put his ex-wife in jail for “disobeying” a court order.
The FB user revealed that the ex-husband had expressed his desire to visit his child. However, the mother denied his request as the child was recovering from HFMD (Hand Foot Mouth Disease) and Covid-19. His ex-wife even provided all the necessary documents to prove that their child was indeed unwell but he refused to accept the situation and asked the Syariah court to put her in jail for “denying his visitation rights”.
Despite having the medical documents, the judge allegedly ignored the ex-wife’s proof and agreed to the man’s request and put her behind bars. Netizens saw this as an act of revenge as being jailed would tarnish the woman’s reputation of being a government doctor. If that wasn’t bad enough, the man apparently refused to look after the sick child, arguing that “There’s no court order for a man to take care of his child if the mother is in jail”.
The Facebook post was shared on Twitter and it got netizens fuming at the thought of a man doing something this cruel to his ex-wife and child. Many started criticising and questioning the legal system of the Syariah court as they felt everything was very one-sided.
According to Lobak Merah, the ex-wife has yet to serve her sentence and has been granted 6 months to 1 year of committal suspension. It is believed that she’s met up with Nik Elin Nik Rashid, founder of Wibawa WoMen Community to discuss further action.
