This week, the 26th edition of Le Tour De Langkawi is having their annual cycling race throughout Peninsular Malaysia. The race is happening all week long from 11th to 18th October, so expect closed-off roads from Kuala Pilah all the way to Langkawi.
Unfortunately for this particular singer, Dato Hattan, he was stuck in a massive traffic jam for almost two hours due to the closed-off roads. Enraged, the singer uploaded a video on his Instagram reels complaining about the cause of the traffic jam.
Stage one of the Le Tour De Langkawi started on Tuesday, 11th October. The cyclers raced a total distance of 157.3km for the first stage! For this part, the Ampang road and P Ramlee road were closed for cyclers starting from Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan to the KLCC Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur. Due to this predicament, the streets of Kuala Lumpur were wedged solid with a traffic gridlock.
According to the event organisers, the Ampang road was closed from 10am until 6pm that day, whereas the P Ramlee road was closed from 3pm to 5pm. However, not everyone was aware of the road closure announcements and proceeded to drive said roads anyway. One of these people was Dato Hattan.
“Assalamualaikum, how are you? I came from Kampung Pandan, on the way to the Tabung Haji building. However, it has been almost two hours (since) I (got) stuck here. Why? Because the roads are closed for a cycling competition.” the singer said in the video he uploaded, stuck in the driver’s seat of a car which was totally stationary.
“If there was a race, why is it in the middle of the Kuala Lumpur city? Why didn’t they think of any other roads? (At one point) I felt like peeing and stopping by the side of the road, but I’m worried someone would take a picture. But what if I can’t hold it in anymore? Who’s idea was this? That person is so smart!” he added.
For your information, the first stage of Le Tour De Langkawi race was won by Gleb Syritsa of Astana Qazaqstan Team. Congratulations to them! For more information on the races, visit their Instagram official page here.
