If you’ve experienced living the dorm life in boarding schools or universities, then you’d probably come across scary experiences or heard stories of people being haunted by ghosts. This Chinese student, in particular, resorted to a rather unexpected approach to keep the evil spirits away.
Recently, a video shared by a TikTok user named @emadhakimiyy went viral online. In the post, the TikToker revealed on how his Chinese roommate sought divine protection as he was afraid of ghosts. The solution? He plays a portion of the Surah Yasin on his phone!

Obviously amused by the discovery, the Politeknik student stated that this was his first time seeing a non-Muslim turning to Islamic scriptures to fend off ghosts and evil spirits. It didn’t take too long before the video went viral online. At the time of writing (Wednesday, 12th October), the TikTok post has amassed over 967k views on the video sharing platform!
The comments section was flooded with plenty of responses from netizens, who were mostly entertained after seeing the video.
