In this day and age of technology, it is so easy for one to get scammed. From one click of a simple link, your whole life can be gone in a blink. Because of this, there has been a rise of scamming cases in Malaysia. People have lost thousands of ringgit in scamming operations and in some cases, even millions.
However this isn’t the case for this one particular netizen. Claiming that he isn’t easily fooled, this man by the name of Atan, has decided to go along with this scammer’s operation by fooling them back! Thanks to his impressive editing skills, he was able to fool this scammer for almost 2 days!
The whole charade started with Atan, playing along with the scammer who goes by the name of Eiza. The scammer had asked for a whopping RM2000, but Atan explained he could only transfer RM800 at the time due to shortage of money. Surprised that the scammer couldn’t recognise the edited receipts, Atan decided to play along and see how far he could take this.
After every “successful” transfer process, the scammer would get greedy and ask for more money, even spamming him with calls for updates. At the end of the whole charade, the scammer asked for over RM4000! While this whole fiasco was going on, Atan was seen providing his followers with real time updates.
You’d think it would be the end of this story, but the scammer actually came back! This time they claimed that their account was hacked, and asked for a screenshot of the netizen’s telegram page. Realising that this is yet another hacker tactic, the netizen ignored their request and simply spammed them again.
At the time of writing, the netizen has yet to update his story. Having said that, this is certainly a reminder not be too gullible and to act smart when someone asks for money.
