What is in a name? Many notable scholars, businessmen and politicians have honorary titles bestowed to them by the King of Malaysia or the Sultan of their State. These titles such as Dato’, Datuk or Tan Sri come with many advantages including an automatic good reputation. So, unfortunately for these titles, many are willing to lie for the privilege.
Just a few days ago, a netizen on Facebook by the name of Aliff Ahmad caused a fit within the online community when he brought up the portal to review recipients of these titles. On a hunt to find fake Datuks, the netizen revealed two Malaysian actresses – Eina Azman and Fouziah Gous’ respective husbands -Kaiser Gurmeet and Zhafran Yusof – both have fake Datuk titles in their names.
As the issue grows, these two celebrities have gone quiet. According to Harian Metro, they have repeatedly tried reaching both women for a public statement but failed. Calls and messages were ignored, and no update on the issue has been given yet. Because of this, speculations are being made that they had simply bought a title rather than actually receiving one.
At the time of writing, their social medias remain quiet. Both of the celebrities are ignoring the whole issue by continuing with their daily lives. Datin Fouziah Gous is reportedly in Johor Bahru at the Jom Heboh event with her husband and kids, promoting their bird’s nest health drink, FG Walet. Datin Paduka Eina Azman on the other hand is with her husband, apparently having a meeting with the Honorary Tengku Sulaiman Shah at an undisclosed location.
