Scammers these days are more clever and cunning when it comes to fooling people into giving them money. Although most scammers would usually target those who are gullible enough to believe them, some would take the risk of scamming VIPs, the wealthy, and even celebrities.
Speaking of celebs, we tend to forget that they’re also humans and can fall victim to these outrageous scams. Norreen Iman recently went on a trip to Thailand with 30 people but things did not go as planned. Here’s what happened:

Malaysian influencer and actress, Norreen Iman Abdullah or fondly known as just Norreen, posted on her TikTok sharing her experience of being scammed while she was on holiday with her family at Hat Yai, Thailand. In the video posted last night (Sunday, 25th September), we can see the actress confronting someone off camera regarding payment. The video then cut to the 28-year-old on the phone, presumably with the police, in the bathroom.
We then see the “Ash & Aish” star joined by a few other men confronting the travel agent in his hotel room. “I brought my children with me, I brought my mother with me and it looks to me like we’re the ones who have to pay RM5k for the bus trip! Where’s the money?” she demanded an answer. According to the caption in the video, the scammer insisted that all the money will be transferred from a ‘Dato’ who apparently had no association with him.
“He was still trying to twist his story saying that his mother will pay for him. I’ll lodge a report since he has all our details. [Apparently] he’s been using our names to convince others of what he’s doing,” she wrote in the caption. Fans reacted to the post with some sharing their experience of being scammed by fake travel agents.
It is currently unknown exactly how Norreen and her family found out about the scam as she has not shared much detail on the incident.
